Kumawood actor Big Akwes has disclosed that he led a delegation to meet the President, John Dramani Mahama after his recent budget failed to capture the creative art sector.
According to him, his delegation is meant to remind the President of his promises to the sector.
Big Akwes revealed this during an interview with Max Morning Show in Accra on Thursday where he said the creative art sector needed all the support to make it stand on its feet.
He noted that the creative sector has the tendency to boost the economy as it could employ many unemployed youth and leverage on their talents.
Big Akwes indicated that when there was no budget allocated to the sector, the stakeholders in the sector were unhappy so they gathered and paid a courtesy visit to the President.
“I and Christian Awuni and several others paid a courtesy visit to President John Dramani Mahama over the weekend but he said we shouldn’t worry because he just wanted to use six months to monitor things after that every plan he has about the creative art sector will be fulfilled,” he stated.
Big Akwes therefore reiterated calls on the people in the sector to calm down as plans were far advanced by the president to fulfill all his promises to the sector.
