A pregnant woman and several others sustained minor injuries in an accident at Okrakwadjo, along the Koforidua-Adukrom road in the Eastern Region. No fatalities were recorded.
The crash involved a Toyota Hiace (GT 5160-17) en route from Ashaiman to Koforidua. According to eyewitnesses, the vehicle veered off the road and landed in a bush.
The accident occurred during heavy morning rainfall, which likely caused poor visibility and slippery conditions.
Eastern Regional Minister Rita Akosua Adjei Awatey and her team, who coincidentally arrived at the scene, assisted with rescue efforts. She later urged drivers to be cautious and observe road safety rules, especially during the rainy season.
