JUST IN: GOC President Ben Nunoo Mensah Enstooled as Ga Nɔyaa Mantsɛ

Date:

Ben Nunoo Mensah, President of the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC), has been formally enstooled as the Nɔyaa Mantsɛ (Development Chief) of the Ga State.

The ceremony, which took place on Sunday at the Ga Mantsɛ Stool House in Accra, honored Nunoo Mensah with the title “Nii Kojo Ashiefie Papanyira I” in recognition of his significant contributions to sports and national development.

As Nɔyaa Mantsɛ, Nunoo Mensah, who also serves as a Director at Barari DV Ghana Lithium Concession, will play a key role in advancing crucial development projects initiated by the Ga Mantsɛ, King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II.

The ceremony was marked by its vibrant display of cultural traditions and was attended by notable figures from the sports community, traditional leaders, and government officials.

King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II praised Nii Kojo Ashiefie Papanyira I for his dedication to advancing sports and youth development in Ghana. The King urged him to stay focused on his new role and to disregard any distractions or criticisms aimed at undermining his efforts.

He also reminded the new Development Chief of the importance of serving selflessly, ensuring that his contributions benefit the entire Ga State rather than just his immediate family.

In his acceptance speech, Dr. Nii Tetteh Quaye, now known as Nii Kojo Ashiefie Papanyira I, expressed deep gratitude for the honor and dedicated his new role to the sports community.

He committed to continuing his efforts to promote sporting excellence in Ghana and emphasized that his immediate priority will be to support King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II in enhancing educational opportunities for the youth of the Ga State.
