Nigerian rapper Ice Prince has expressed regret at ending his friendship with the late South African hip-hop star AKA before his death.
According to him, he is still struggling to heal from the tragic death of AKA and wishes they had reconciled before his tragic death.
Ice Prince confessed this in a recent podcast while reflecting on the murder of his once South African friend.
“I wish we got to speak about it because we never did. And it hurt me so bad because that’s my friend,” he said.
The “Oleku” hitmaker recalled AKA’s frequent visits to his Lagos home and revealed that he has prayed for forgiveness over their unresolved rift.
“Sometimes, when I’m praying, I see him there. So, I know we are at peace. I know he looks out for me as one of my homeboys in heaven,” he reflected.
The pair reportedly fell out after the South African rapper’s controversial comments about Nigerians during the 2019 xenophobic attacks, which Ice Prince publicly opposed.
AKA, born Kiernan Forbes, was shot dead outside a Durban restaurant on February 10, 2023. His murder trial remains ongoing.
