Dancehall musician Derick Obuobie Jnr known widely in the industry as J.Derobie has revealed that he was a waiter at a certain restaurant when he first set his eyes on rapper Sarkodie.
According to him, it was a dream come true and was even privileged to be the server of the rapper.
J.Derobie revealed this during an interview with Max TV’s entertainment program e-Quick in Accra on Wednesday when he was promoting his new music and EP “Firm After All” which comes in three waves.
He appreciated the works of Sarkodie after showing love to Shatta Wale as an artist he looks up to.
“Eeeiii Sarkodie is very good, I look up to him too. When I wasn’t ‘blown,’ I saw him at a restaurant where I used to work as a waiter. In fact, I served him and his family. At that time it was TT’s birthday and they had a private gathering in the restaurant I worked at,” J.Derobie revealed.
He explained that he did not just wake up to become a famous musician but he was hit by so many challenges in life before becoming who he is today.
J.Derobie charged young musicians not to give up the hustle until they eat from their sweat.
