Former Asante Kotoko head coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani has always been a fan of Accra Hearts of Oak and will forever remain so.
He began his playing career starring for amateur side Hearts Babies after a spell with Bolga Soccer Masters, where the coaches were all fans of Hearts and named him “Gormash” after George Gormashie.
The former Black Maidens coach’s love for his current club stems largely from the influence of his late father, an avid fan himself, Mr. George Dramani.
Mr. George Dramani, a well-respected member of the National Sports Council, made sure to teach Didi Dramani the ropes of the beautiful game of football because he may have seen something special in him.
Didi Dramani shared about when he first saw the mighty and glorious Hearts team play in 1979 at the Accra Sports Stadium in Osu, where they drew 1-1 with Cornerstone.
A memory that is engraved in the mind of the now master tactician is such as his first of his favourite team in action and how the late Offei Ansah gifted him a replica of the team’s jersey, which he could only wear in his room.
Didi Dramani is determined to bring out something special that would, in the long term, be appreciated. He simply wants to serve the club that brought him so much happiness and father-son memories. He wants the club back at the top of continental football.
