President John Dramani Mahama’s first three ministerial nominees would go through vetting by the Appointments Committee of the Parliament of Ghana.
The vetting is scheduled to commence from Monday, January 13, 2025, after the Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, confirmed receipt of the nominees.
The first set of nominees—Dr Cassiel Ato Baah Forson for Minister for Finance, Mr John Abdulai Jinapor for Minister for Energy, and Dr Dominic Akuritinga Ayine for Attorney-General and Minister for Justice.
Chaired by Hon. Benard Ahiafor, other members of the Appointments Committee include Kwame Governs Agbodza, Mahama Ayariga, Alhasan Umar, Alexander Kwamena Afenyo-Markin as the Ranking Member, Patricia Appiagyei as the Deputy Ranking Member, Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, Shaibu Mahama, Frank Annoh-Dompreh, and Patrick Yaw Boamah, with Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah serving as Vice Chairman.
