GPL: Legon Cities return to winning ways after beating King Faisal

Date:

Legon Cities defeated King Faisal 3-1 in their match on matchday 16 at the El Wak Stadium to regain their winning ways after a recent slump.

Even though King Faisal’s team had lost its previous six games, they were trounced on Sunday.

Jonah Attuquaye was given the chance to play after returning from a disappointing CHAN tournament, and in the first five minutes of the game, he gave his team the lead.

The home team was in control for the duration of the first half while King Faisal briefly took control, but they were unable to equalize.

Felix Hammond scored the game’s second goal for Legon Cities with eight minutes remaining, but it was a tight conclusion as the visitors scored to make it 2-1.

Moro Nasiru added the winning goal for Legon Cities to put an end to any remaining hopes that King Faisal would score the equalizer to make it 3-1.

King Faisal is in 16th place with 17 points after 16 games, while Legon Cities is in 10th place with 21 points.
