As Ghana eagerly awaits the presentation of the 2025 Budget Statement and Economic Policy, citizens from different walks of life have expressed their thoughts, hopes, and concerns about what the government’s financial blueprint should address.
In a vox pop conducted by MAX TV, Ghanaians voiced their expectations, touching on tax reliefs, job creation, economic stability, and social interventions. Many are hopeful that the Mahama administration will ease the financial burden on individuals and businesses by scrapping controversial taxes such as the E-Levy, COVID-19 Health Levy, and Betting Tax.
A businessman interviewed stressed the need for reduced import duties to support local enterprises, while a trader emphasized the importance of affordable goods and stable fuel prices. Others highlighted concerns about youth unemployment, calling for policies that would create more jobs and provide better opportunities for young professionals.
With the Finance Minister, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, set to deliver the much-anticipated budget, Ghanaians are hopeful that the government’s policy direction will prioritize economic growth, infrastructure development, and social welfare.
