International diplomat and consultant Al Wahab has slammed the state for failing to recognise key persons in the aftermath of the August 6 crash.
Al Wahab Farouk asserts witnesses of the Ghana Air Force (GAF) Z9 helicopter crash at Brofoyedu, Adansi Akrofuom in the Ashanti Region must be heavily commended for their actions in alerting authorities.
These individuals, he believes, are true patriots of Ghana. Heroes are not only attributed to those who died in service of good but also those living for the good of a cause.
“Of all the speeches given at the state funeral, none commended the villagers who witnessed and carried the remains of the victims or those who led the minister to the crash site,” he said.
Forensic Investigations
The Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Lt William Agyapong, before the state funeral of the fallen heroes, announced experts from the United States of America are expected to conduct forensic investigations into the crash following the recovery of the Black Box.
Al Wahab questioned the need to contract the Americans because the crashed aircraft was Chinese-manufactured. He suggested bringing in Chinese experts instead to conduct the forensic investigations.
