Bechem United have climbed to the summit of the Ghana Premier League standings after defeating Karela United 2-1 at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park.

In what was anticipated to be a very tough encounter, the fixture lived up to expectations with neither side able to find the back of the net in the first 45 minutes.

After recess, a bright start from Bechem United saw the side take the lead courtesy of a strike from Stephen Owusu in the 46th minute.

Although prolific striker Diawisie Taylor would score ten minutes later to draw level for Karela United, a late equalizer from Listowell Amankonah secured a sensational 2-1 win for Bechem United at the end of the contest.

This win has seen the Hunters climb to the top of the Ghana Premier League standings with 11 points, level with Karela United.
