GFA launch ‘Catch them Young’ refereeing initiative in Central Region

The Ghana Football Association on Friday launched ‘Catch Them Young’ referees program, ahead of the start of the 2020/2021 Juvenile Football League season.

The program is geared towards attracting youngsters to the refereeing profession, in order to imbibe them with the needed skills to become world class in the near future.

The event saw over 50 young boys and girls enroll on the program.

Referees from the program will be in charge of all juvenile and Regional Women’s Division One league matches.

Vice Chairman of juvenile committee and GFA ExCO member, Samuel Anim Addo, was present at the launch and is hopeful that products of the new policy will soon be officiating at the World Cup.

FIFA Rule Books, officiating kits and other essentials were distributed to the instructors at for the various districts.
