GFA CONGRESS: Our football is safe under Kurt Okraku- GHALCA

Date:

The President of the Ghana Lague Clubs Association (GHALCA), Kudjo Fianoo, has lauded the immense efforts of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) president, Kurt Okraku, during his first term in office, stating that the nation’s football is in “safe hands.”

The GFA president recently addressed several major stakeholders in Ghana Football at the 29th Ordinary Congress held at the KNUST Great Hall in Kumasi, where he echoed the major success Ghana Football has seen since his appointment in 2019 against the backdrop of several years of struggles.

Speaking to Max FM in an exclusive interview, the GHALCA boss commended Kurt Okraku for his colossal contributions towards the development of football in Ghana but also noted that more could be done to our football to take it a step forward.

Asked if Ghana football is in safe hands, Mr. Fianoo answered, “Yes, our football is in safe hands. Our finances are in safe hands. They accounted for everything yesterday [during the congress]. Now we have to turn our focus on the performance on the pitch.”

Kudjo Fianoo praised the current administration for their significant efforts towards Football Development but urged them to try and improve performances on the pitch. He remained mum when asked about the Ghana Premier League going autonomous during the start of the 2023–24 season.
