FIFA RANKINGS: Black Queens fall by two places

The Black Queens of Ghana are finishing the 2023 calendar year on a strong note despite falling by two places in the latest FIFA world women’s football rankings.

Ghana is ranked 61st in the world and 4th on the African continent, proving they are still a force to be reckoned with.

Iran has risen four spots to take over Ghana’s former spot, which was at number 59.

Nora Hauptle’s Queens have lost only one match throughout the 2023 calendar year since she took reign as head coach of the team.

The Queens enjoyed a successful year under the stewardship of the Swiss coach as they lost their final game of the year, which was a return leg of the CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifications against Namibia in South Africa.

Ghana qualified despite the shock 1-0 defeat to the Namibians and is looking to beat Zambia in February 2024 for a place at the Paris Olympics.
