Mikel Merino, the latest addition to Arsenal, will be sidelined for a “few weeks” due to a shoulder injury sustained during his first practice. This was announced by team manager Mikel Arteta.
The Spaniard completed his £31.6 million transfer from Real Sociedad to the Gunners on Tuesday.
On Thursday, Merino, who joined Arsenal as their second summer acquisition after Bologna’s Riccardo Calafiori, trained for the first time.
After running into a teammate, the 28-year-old suffered a “small fracture” that will keep him out for a “few weeks”.
