Abdul Fatawu Issahaku’s stunning extra-time winner was enough to knock fellow Ghanaian Antoine Semenyo’s Bournemouth out of the English FA Cup on Tuesday night.
The Ghanaian international collected Kelechi Iheanacho’s pass on the edge of the penalty area before bending a powerful left-foot shot into the top corner to send his side into the quarterfinals.
The match entered extra time because neither team could muster any serious opportunities to score until it suddenly picked up steam.
The championship leaders always looked more likely to get the breakthrough, and they did just that through Sporting CP’s on-loan talent, Abdul Fatawu.
Leicester City are now through to the quarterfinals after beating Chelsea to lift the trophy in 2021.
