Popular music duo DopeNation has expressed anticipation in how the rockstar Kuami Eugene will overcome what is believed to be a “curse” for musicians who leave the Lynx Entertainment record label.
Lynx honed the musical talent of the aforementioned artists, and it is believed by many that any artist who dumps the label has his or her career crippled.
DopeNation’s act was a reply to a statement the Rockstar made four years ago when the duo parted ways with the label.
At the time, Kuami Eugene expressed relief over their exit, saying it meant more resources for himself and labelmate KiDi.
“I’m glad that now, what we shared among four boys will now be shared among two boys. They can take the exit,” he said during an interview.
Though DopeNation did not publicly respond at the time, they recently shaded Kuami Eugene when their former label boss announced the departure of Kuami Eugene from Lynx.
The twin artists in an X post on Monday cheekily reminded Kuami Eugene of his past comments, further wishing him success in overcoming what some fans referred to as the “Lynx Curse”—a belief that artists who leave the label struggle to maintain their careers.
“Let’s see how you carry the so-called “lynx curse” now. What was meant for four people is now for one person. We wish you well. @KuamiEugene, “the post read.
