COURT VERDICT: I’ve been vindicated- Asamoah Gyan reacts

Date:

Ghana legend Asamoah Gyan says he has been vindicated after court ruled on his favour in marriage annulment between him and his ex-wife, Gifty Gyan.

On Tuesday, an Accra court delivered a verdict following a three-year legal battle affirming Asamoah Gyan’s paternity of the three children born to Gifty Gyan.

The court decreed that Asamoah Gyan is obligated to provide financial support to Gifty Gyan in the form of a monthly stipend of 25,000 Ghana cedis.

However, this financial assistance does not encompass specific expenses such as school fees, medical and dental care, flight tickets, and various other childcare costs.

In addition to the financial obligations, the court has ruled that Asamoah Gyan’s mansion located in the United Kingdom be transferred to Gifty Gyan as part of the settlement.

She has also been awarded a four-bedroom house situated in Spintex, Accra.

Furthermore, the court has adjudicated that two vehicles owned by Asamoah Gyan, a BMW and an Infiniti, be handed over to Gifty Gyan.

Additionally, Asamoah Gyan’s land, originally designated for the construction of a filling station, has been assigned to Gifty Gyan.

Despite the penalties awarded against Gyan, the former Sunderland and Udinese star in an interview said he has been vindicated as he believes the ruling went in his favour.

“It has been five years and people have said a lot of things but I didn’t complain because I know that as a public figure, these things happen. Because of my kids, I won’t say anything but now they are trying to twist the ruling to make it seem like I lost the case.

“I spoke to Gifty that because of what is going on, I would come out and defend myself. I spoke to her and told her point blank that I have kept quiet on the issue and allowed all kinds of false narratives about me.

“His people lost the case but they want public sympathy so they made it seem like I’m the bad person. Now that the verdict is out and they want to turn it against me, I will come out and talk. I’m talking today because I have already warned her.

“I have been vindicated because the court has ruled in favor of me and what I wished, they granted it. I know it’s not coming from my ex-wife but rather people around her who know that they’ve lost the case. They want to clear their name,” he said.
