With five games into the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League (GPL) season, Port City have got the attention of every fan and pundit.
Port City FC secured their promotion to Ghana’s top flight for the first time in their history with an outstanding campaign in Zone Three of the Access Bank Division One League.
The Tema-based GPL newbies, looking to make an impact, hired the experienced Christopher Ennin to lead them.
In an exclusive interview on Max TV, Ennin disclosed why he made the surprising move to Port City, considering his coaching background.
“I accepted the job to be close to my family, who live nearby. I hadn’t spent a full year with my family. My children need my presence,” he said.
Regarding the team’s season objectives, the former Berekum Chelsea gaffer chose to be grounded despite his players’ desire to win the league.
“My target is to compete and compete well to finish. To finish in the first four or five in the league,” he said and continued by praising the working structures at the club.
Port City will be looking to maintain their form for one of the best finishes by a newcomer of the league.
Ennin and his boys will travel to the University of Ghana Stadium next to face off with Accra Hearts of Oak next on matchday six.
