The Chairman of the MTN FA Cup Committee has announced significant changes in the 2026/27 season.
Wilson Arthur made this historic change known during an interview with Max FM’s Sports Pack show. The final of the new 2026/27 season will now be contested over two legs.
The first leg of the final is expected to be played between June 5 and 7, and the return leg, June 12 and 13, 2027.
According to the chairman, having the final played on a two-legged basis will bring more exposure to the tournament.
He added that the two-legged ties could’ve started from the quarter-finals if the organisers could afford it.
The Committee has also targeted the inclusion of football communities to promote the fixtures through social media activations throughout the season.
