The Italian gaffer had come under intense scrutiny in recent days.
Sky Sports reported on 2025 Christmas eve that Maresca would leave the club before January 3, 2026.
Liam Rosenoir, Franco De Zebi, and Oliver Glasner have been touted as candidates to take over.
Tensions arose in the club after rumors of Maresca wanting to join Manchester City next season.
Maresca won the Europa Conference League and FIFA Club World Cup for Chelsea.
