Manchester United has sacked Portuguese coach Rúben Amorim after 14 months in charge of the club.
This comes after his stormy post-match interview with the media following Manchester United’s 1-1 draw with Leeds at Elland Road.
Amorim demanded to be viewed as the club’s manager rather than head coach, meaning he wanted more power and room to exercise his authority, such as a say in player transfers.
United will now travel to Turf Moor for a must-win clash against relegation candidates Burnley with a substantive coach.
Rumours have it that United may turn to high-profile coaches such as former Barcelona player Xavi Hernandez or Enzo Maresca.
