BOXING: Dubois destroys Joshua in five

Date:

IBF heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois (22-2, 21 KOs) delivered a stunning performance against Anthony Joshua (28-4, 25 KOs), knocking him down four times in front of a record crowd of 96,000 at Wembley Stadium in London.

From the outset, Dubois adopted an aggressive approach, landing a powerful overhand right that sent Joshua to the canvas at the end of the first round. As the fight progressed, Dubois maintained his relentless pressure, continuing to work over Joshua and landing significant punches in the second round.

By the end of the third round, Dubois had Joshua reeling once again, flooring him for the second time. In round four, Joshua found himself down early but managed to gather his composure and survive the round.

The fight took a dramatic turn in round five when Joshua managed to rock Dubois, showcasing his own power. However, just as hope seemed to emerge for Joshua, he was caught with a punishing shot that sent him to the mat for the third time, resulting in a knockout at 59 seconds of the round.

Despite entering the ring as a 5:1 favorite, Joshua couldn’t withstand Dubois’s onslaught, marking a significant moment in heavyweight boxing history.
