Black Stars player Mohamed Kudus scored his first goal in the 2024-25 Premier League season in West Ham’s 4-1 thrashing of Ipswich Town.
Kudus had come under huge scrutiny after his club coach, Julian Lopetegui, had publicly criticized him, painting him as selfish and not a team player.
Reports following the Spanish coach’s shocking outburst about the Ghanaian international, who contributed massively to Hammers 2023-24 season after he signed from Dutch giants, Ajax Amsterdam, indicated that representatives of the player met with the club’s hierarchy to register their displeasure.
Kudus gave his team the lead just before halftime after Liam Delap had cancelled out Michail Antonio’s first-minute opener for the Londoners.
Jarod Bowen and Lucas Paqueta found the back of the net in the second half to hand West Ham their first victory in the new league season.
With the 2025 AFCON set to come off on Thursday, October 10, Kudus will be expected to arrive in Ghana by Tuesday ahead of the much anticipated double header between Ghana and Sudan.
