The Black Queens of Ghana have booked a consecutive qualification for the 2026 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations in Morocco.
An intelligent Doris Boaduwaa hat-trick sealed a remarkable 7-0 aggregate win over the Cleopatras of Egypt on Tuesday afternoon.
The two powerhouses in African football (at least Ghana in women’s football) locked horns at the Accra Sports Stadium for the second-leg qualifier.
In front of expectant and charged stadium spectators, the Cleopatras of Egypt’s intent to play their hearts out was evident, as they missed the few decent chances to score in the first half, which ended goalless.
With a 3-0 first-leg win last Thursday in Cairo, the Queens showed determination to cap off the qualifications with a commanding win as Boaduwaa knocked home hers and Ghana’s first of the game.
The former Hasaacas Ladies striker doubled her tally in the 55th minute, three minutes after her first courtesy of a Princess Owusu quick-thinking pass, before Comfort Yeboah scored her first Ghana goal, an absolute worldie, two minutes later.
Stella Nyamekye fed a beautiful pass to you-know-who to seal her first hat-trick for the senior women’s football national team of Ghana, the Black Queens.
