Asante Kotoko Sudanese pair missing in DC

Date:

According to reports from radio stations in Kumasi, two players of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, AbdoelKarem Yagoub and Esmat Al Hasan, have absconded from the team’s training base in Washington DC.

The Porcupine Warriors were billed to take on Major League Soccer side DC United in an international club friendly after beating rivals Hearts of Oak to clinch the maiden Democracy Cup in July 2024.

AbdoelKarem Yagoub and Esmat Al Hasan, both Sudanese, were among seven players that travelled to the United States of America after the rest of the team encountered visa refusals to enable them to take part in the international friendly, which was eventually cancelled to honor the Ghana Week celebrations in Washington DC.

Asante Kotoko is yet to officially respond to these reports.
