Matthew Jr Amoah, son of former Saint Augustine’s College student and Black Stars striker Mathew Amoah, has signed his inaugural professional contract with Feyenoord, securing his commitment to the Dutch club until 2027.
The 15-year-old agreed to a three-year deal with Feyenoord after demonstrating his talent in the club’s youth ranks.
Having joined Feyenoord in 2018 from NAC Breda, Matthew Jr expressed his delight, stating, “I am very proud to have signed my first contract with Feyenoord. I have been with the club since I was a young boy and have been working towards this moment for many years.
In the upcoming season, I aim to progress further in my development and contribute significantly to my team by providing assists and scoring goals.”
Matthew Jr is set to feature in the Eredivisie next season as Feyenoord seeks to challenge for the league title, aiming to wrest it away from PSV.
His father, Amoah Snr, made a name for himself in the Netherlands playing for clubs like NAC Breda and Vitesse Arnhem. At the international level, he earned 45 caps for the Black Stars, scoring 12 goals, and represented Ghana in major tournaments including the 2006 and 2010 World Cups.
