Assistant coach of the Sudanese senior men’s national team, Coach Ignatius Osei-Fosu, has advised the next coach Ghana needs.
Ghana is currently in dire search of a coach following the expected departure of former coach Carlos Queiroz, courtesy of a terrible start to the 2027 AFCON qualifiers.
The Black Stars of Ghana had failed to win a single match since their 2026 FIFA World Cup opening 1-0 win over Panama.
According to Coach Ignatius, the players need a coach that can inspire them to play to win.
“I think we should appoint a coach who can inspire the players to play… Inspiration to play can be using tactics. It can even be your training sessions. It can be your personal approach toward human beings. Where we are now, I believe an experienced coach will help.”
Ghana’s recent 2-4 home defeat to the Gambia eventually became the last straw that would break the backs of Ghanaians as calls rang out for the sacking of Queiroz.
The players’ performances in the two games against the Ivory Coast and the Gambia were completely unrecognisable.
Coach Ignatius maintains none of the players [Black Star] can be taught how to be making simple basic passes or runs or even defending. They just need to be inspired.
