The qualifying draw for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament is set to come off on Thursday, July 4, in South Africa, as Ghana is placed in Pot 1.
On Wednesday, July 3, 2024, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) shared the pots for the draw in a social media post.
In Pot 1 are Morocco, Senegal, Egypt, defending champions Ivory Coast, Nigeria, Tunisia, Algeria, Cameroon, Mali, South Africa, DR Congo, and Ghana.
Cape Verde, Burkina Faso, Guinea, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, Zambia, Benin, Angola, Uganda, Namibia, Mozambique, and Madagascar make up Pot 2.
Kenya, Mauritania, Congo, Tanzania, Guinea-Bissau, Libya, Comoros, Togo, Sudan, and Sierra Leone, Malawi, and the Central African Republic are in Pot 3.
The Black Stars’ 2026 World Cup qualifier opponent, Chad, is in Pot 4 together with Burundi, Niger, Zimbabwe, Rwanda, the Gambia, Liberia, Ethiopia, Botswana, Lesotho, Eswatini, and South Sudan.
