The selection of a new head coach of Ghana following the recent dismissal of Carlos Queiroz will take longer than expected.
A decision was reached in collaboration with the coaching search committee and in consultation with Ghana’s Ministry of Youth and Sports.
After its first round of meetings and an early look at the situation, it came back with a clear message: finding the next Head Coach of the Black Stars should not be treated as a simple hiring task.
Instead, the association explained, it ought to be seen as a chance to build something bigger — a stronger football identity, firmer performance standards, and a foundation solid enough to carry Ghana football into the future.
With that principle in mind, the committee called for a more carefully structured and thorough recruitment approach, one designed to make sure the eventual appointment serves the long-term interests of both the Black Stars and the wider game in Ghana.
