Asante Kotoko’s South African gaffer Eric Tinkler has said his team still has so much work to do.
Tinkler was reacting to Kotoko’s hard-fought 2-1 win against Kpando Heart of Lions on Sunday.
He lauded his players for their hard work, creating chances, but was unimpressed by the ease with which Lions were able to rotate their plays in the game.
“We made things difficult for ourselves today because they are a good team… We struggled to deal with them and they created lots of chances.
“We managed to survive and get opportunities… Overall, still a lot of work to do defensively… Still work in progress. Sometimes you’ve got to win it ugly.”
Emmanuel Marmah scored his first goal for Kotoko and later assisted Opoku Agyeman in extending his side’s lead before Francis Odoom pulled one back from the penalty spot.
Kotoko are two points behind their rivals, Hearts of Oak, who sit atop the league standings with 6 points after matchday two.
