Fashion designer Abrantie the Gentleman has condemned the attire Ebenezer Akwasi Antwi, known professionally as Ras Nene or Dr. Likee, wore to the 27th Telecel Ghana Music Awards.
According to him, the dressing did not meet the red carpet standard of the awards show.
Speaking in an interview on Max Morning Show in Accra on Monday, Oheneba Yaw Boamah, as known privately, expressed the need for Dr. Likee to get stylists and image architects to curate his wardrobes.
”We are in new media right now. Any person who goes viral becomes a celebrity per the standard definition of “celebrity,” but who is checking and guiding these people on what they wear?… Dr. Likee is now a top celeb whether we like it or not, but again, what he wore was a no-no! Who is clothing him?” he queried.
Abrantie the Gentleman indicated that even if a designer reached out to Dr. Likee on the red carpet, he would gain nothing if he was questioned only about his humorous side.
He then expressed the need for a red carpet question to center on fashion in order to project the culture, fashion, and designers of the country.
During the TGMA, Dr. Likee wore a short white nica and shirt with slippers to the red carpet and even presented an award to an artist.
