The Western Central Regional Police Command has debunked certain unscrupulous media reports stating suspects connected to the murder of Mr Andrews Amankwah had escaped jail.
The late Mr Andrews Amankwah was the father-in-law of GoldBod CEO Mr Samuel Gyamfi. He was murdered at Owhim Tigo Junction in Kumasi on February 10, 2026.
The suspects, Kojo Amponsah, alias Kamakazie; Emmanuel Appiah, alias Taller; and Tanko Bashiru, alias TK, are currently on remand and will reappear before the court on May 7, 2026.
The police have therefore urged the general public to disregard such false publications after confirming the suspects remain in jail.
