At the moment, it remains unclear whether the 2018 Ballon d’Or winner will undergo surgery or opt for conservative treatment.

Meanwhile, Croatia is hoping to count on their iconic captain for the 2026 World Cup, although he will likely have to play wearing a protective mask.
