Date:

The head coach of the men’s senior national football team of Ghana, Otto Addo, has named a 24-man squad for the upcoming FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Former Galatasaray defender Derrick Kohn received his first call-up to join the squad ahead of the games against Chad and Mali.

One big name many expected to be left out by Otto Addo was Thomas Partey, who is embroiled in an ongoing court battle following allegations of rape.

The Villarreal midfielder would join the squad for the home game against Mali because he is scheduled to appear before the British magistrates on September 2.

Caleb Yirenkyi retained his spot after having impressed at the Unity Cup, which was live on Max TV. The youngster maintained his excellent performances for his club FC Nordsjaelland in the new season.

On Thursday, September 4, the Black Stars will take on Chad away at the Olympique Maréchal Idriss Déby Itno before welcoming the Malians at the Accra Sports Stadium on Monday, September 8, 2025.
