Ghana’s first female vice-president returns to Oguaa

Date:

Blessings and good health have been invoked onto Ghana’s vice-president, Her Excellency Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, by the chiefs and elders of the Oguaa Traditional Council.

Prof. Naana Opoku-Agyemang broke barriers by becoming the first-ever female vice-president in the Republic of Ghana following President John Mahama’s victory at the 2024 general polls.

As a daughter of the Oguaa land, the vice-president returned to express her immense gratitude for their support and prayers in the lead-up to the general elections.

Oguaamanhen, Osabarimaba Kwesi Atta II, together with his sub-chiefs and elders, awarded H.E. Naana Opoku-Agyemang the Osabarimaba Royal Award with a shield and citation, as well as “kente,” “ahenma mpaboa,” and beads.

“I thank you for the love, prayers, and respect you have always shown me,” said the vice-president after the well wishes, gifts, and prayers from the Oguaa Traditional Council.

She also appealed to the youth of Oguaa to refrain from ill vices and behaviours, which would affect the good name of the land and Ghana at large.
