A railway line linking Jomoro to Tema is a sight many would be eager to see happen—an ambition harboured by Hon. Dorcas Affo-Toffey.
Hon. Affo-Toffey, who is in her second term as the member of parliament for the Jomoro constituency, has been nominated as deputy minister of transport.
Also known as the mother of Ghanaian musician and socialite “Fantana,” Hon. Affo-Toffey appeared before the Appointment Committee in Parliament House on Friday, July 25, 2025, to be vetted.
She discussed as part of her objectives when approved by the committee constructing a railway line linking her constituency to Tema to aid smooth transportation of people and commodities.
The MP further disclosed her desire to attract investors into the sector as part of a major revamping plan, supporting her superior, Hon. Joseph Bukari Nikpe, the Transport Minister.
“One of the things when I’m given the nod is I will work with my sector minister [Joseph Bukari Nikpe] to open it up for private investment, or investors to come on board to see how we can revamp the sector to make it viable to help us as a country,” she stated.
