JUST IN: GFA Yet to Approve Pending 2025/26 StarTimes Broadcast Deal – Eli Kondoh

Date:

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) is yet to approve an enhanced bid from StarTimes to serve as the official broadcaster for the 2025/26 league season, set to begin in September.

The GFA says it remains committed to securing a “transparent, fair, and mutually beneficial partnership” for clubs in Ghana’s top-tier football division.

StarTimes has always remained committed to the development and showcase of the Ghana Premier League (GPL) to national viewers and beyond for close to a decade, according to its public relations officer, Eli Kondoh.

Speaking on Max FM’s *Sports Pack* on Thursday, July 24, 2025, Mr. Eli Kondoh revealed that discussions are ongoing for StarTimes to secure the broadcast rights to the Ghana Premier League, with a proposal that would see all eighteen top-tier clubs directly benefiting.

“The GFA is yet to approve a new broadcasting rights agreement,” he confirmed, while reassuring that StarTimes is satisfying the payment plan put in place to clear the debt owed to Ghana’s football governing organization.

StarTimes boasts of a proven track record with regards to sports production over the years, and the 2024/25 GPL season serves as concrete evidence of an unwavering commitment to lift Ghana sports on a higher pedestal.
