Samuel Boadu charged with misconduct in FA Cup semi-final vs Kotoko

Date:

Berekum Chelsea head coach Samuel Boadu has been officially charged with misconduct by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) following his team’s FA Cup semi-final defeat to Asante Kotoko at the Tarkwa TNA Stadium.

In a statement released on Monday, May 13, 2025, the GFA cited breaches of Article 12(1)(i) of the Disciplinary Code and Article 34(6)(d) of the Premier League Regulations.

The charge stems from Boadu’s alleged aggressive and inappropriate behaviour toward match officials after the final whistle. According to the FA, he confronted referees in an “angry and fierce manner,” using gestures deemed disrespectful and harmful to the game’s image.

“This conduct goes against the principles of sportsmanship, respect for officials, and the integrity of football,” the GFA stated, adding that such actions undermine efforts to maintain discipline in Ghanaian football.

Boadu has until Thursday, May 15, 2025, to respond to the charges. If found guilty, he could face sanctions ranging from a fine to a suspension or touchline ban.
