A media personality who doubles as a fashion designer, Kofi Okyere Darko, known widely as KOD, has revealed that he stopped serving under the Ghana Music Awards board two years ago due to how songs were evolving.
According to him, the evasion of trap music in the industry made him lose interest and spoke to the organizers to invite new people to serve the board.
KOD revealed this during an exclusive interview with Max Morning Show in Accra on Friday.
He explained that he had been on the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) board since 1997, but when the dynamics of music changed, he lost interest in following music.
“One thing I told Iyiola, chairman of Charterhouse, was that as the music industry was evolving, we should involve some of the young people because I don’t follow music like I did before,” KOD explained.
He further stated that Charterhouse also invites people yearly to serve the board based on their expertise.
