I was ready to diss Obrafour over his ‘Kasiebo’ track – Okyeame Kwame

Date:

Ghana’s rap doctor, Okyeame Kwame, has finally opened up that he was upset when the rap executioner, Obrafour, and Guru shaded him in their popular track “Kasiebo.”

According to him, he almost released a studio disc to reply to the beef, but the intervention of his wife and loved ones prevented him from doing so.

In a recent interview to react to the 2017 hit track, Okyeame Kwame noted that he least expected Obrafour to toll that line.

Therefore, he was irritated by the track to respond in a similar fashion.

“I was angry at that time; I got very angry… I wanted to react, but Professor Asante, who was my academic teacher at the time, and my wife stopped me. I had already written books on diss songs. I wanted to take the same beat used in Kasiebo and diss him back,” he said.

Okyeame Kwame was grateful for the counsel he received at that time, noting that he would have lost his respect and integrity in the industry if he had responded to the lyrical beef.

“My wife said I hadn’t done a song about Nkrumah or about God, so I shouldn’t be doing a song about him. Among all the things I have done in my life, the only thing I am grateful for is not insulting him back. Because I would have lost my respect and a friend,” he added.

Obrafour released Kasiebo in 2017, featuring rapper Guru.

After the song was released, it sparked conversation in the industry, with many music enthusiasts expecting a reply from Okyeame Kwame and all those who were shaded.
