Chelsea’s thrashing of FC Noah on Thursday saw a young, budding Samuel Rak-Sakyi making his debut for the two-time UEFA Champions League winners.
Samuel, 19, is the younger brother of Crystal Palace star Jesurun Rak-Sakyi, who also graduated from the prestigious Chelsea Football Club Academy.
The teenager, who is eligible to defend the national colors of Ghana through his parents, has been representing the junior national sides of England.
He has been with Chelsea since the age of 8 and has risen through the ranks to make his European debut for the club.
The youngster draws his inspiration from the challenges his older brother, Jesurun, had to overcome to reach the Premier League despite being on loan at Sheffield United in the English Championship after leaving Chelsea.
Enzo Maresca, head coach of the West London club, was full of praise for Samuel at the end of their mauling of FC Noah in the UEFA Europa Conference League.
Describing himself as a technically gifted player, Samuel is targeting more minutes with the club before maybe going on loan for first-team experiences.
