Division One League Zone 3: Great Olympics Lead After Matchday 5

Date:

The race for promotion in the 2024/25 Access Bank Division One League Zone 3 is heating up after Matchday 5, with Great Olympics asserting themselves at the top of the table

Following their impressive start, the Accra-based team holds the lead with 13 points and a strong goal difference of +6, showcasing their intent to reclaim a spot in the Ghana Premier League.

Hot on their heels is Hohoe United, just one point behind with 12 points and an identical goal difference of +6. Hohoe United remains in close contention, eager to capitalize on any slip-up by the leaders as the season progresses.

Rain masters FC currently sits in third place with 11 points, also boasting a +6 goal difference, making the top three extremely competitive. They remain within striking distance of the top, showing that they are a force to be reckoned with this season.

FC Nania follows closely in fourth position with 9 points, while Port City FC and Okwawu United each have 8 points, keeping them within reach of the top four. Port City FC, with a game in hand, has the potential to climb the rankings if they secure a win in their next outing.

Further down the table, a tightly packed mid-table group sees Na God FC, Attram De Visser, K. Semper Fi, and Golden Kick FC each separated by only a point. These teams will be looking to string together wins to move up the standings and stay clear of the relegation battle.

At the bottom end of the table, Kotoku Royals find themselves in a tough spot, with only 1 point from five games and a -5 goal difference. Inter Allies FC and True Democracy FC, with 3 and 4 points respectively, are also in the relegation zone and will need to improve their form to avoid the drop.

Matchday 5 has solidified Great Olympics as the team to beat, but with Hohoe United and Rain masters FC close behind, the Zone 3 title race promises to be a thrilling contest as the season unfolds.
