The Ghana Football Association’s Club Licensing Department has approved only four pitches for the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season following their preliminary inspections.
The Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex, Nsenkyire Sports Arena, Dun’s Park, and WAFA Park are the only stadiums that met all necessary infrastructure standards after the August 2024 inspection.
Despite its recent opening, the new TNA Stadium, a $16 million facility with a 13,000-capacity, is still awaiting full approval due to the lack of an inner perimeter required for full accreditation.
The Baba Yara Stadium and Accra Sports Stadium, the country’s two largest venues, are also on a conditional approval list and have not yet received full accreditation.
Other venues that did not meet the standards have been provided with reports detailing required improvements.
A re-inspection of the venues will take place on August 30, 2024, to address any issues and potentially grant full approval before the season begins.
The 2024/25 Ghana Premier League is set to start on September 6.
