#MAXNEWS: Asantehene Donates GHC500k to Ga Education Fund

Date:

The Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has donated an amount of GHC500,000.00 towards the education of less-privileged Ga Dangbes.

During a distinguished durbar convened in his honor by the Ga State, under the leadership of Ga Mantse Nii Teiko Tsuru II on June 9, His Majesty Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II announced a generous donation of GHC500,000.00 towards the education of underprivileged Ga Dangbes.

This momentous declaration occurred within the framework of activities commemorating the historic visit of the King of Ashanti, the first since 1946.

Through an interpreter, His Majesty articulated his commitment to supporting the education of less-privileged Ga children, stating, “I want to donate an amount of GHC500,000.00 to the Ga Education Fund to assist in the education of less-privileged Ga children.”

Gratefully acknowledging the hospitality of the Ga State, His Majesty utilized the occasion to advocate for unity among the peoples of the two kingdoms and all chiefs across the nation. “The people of Ga and Ashanti must unite to advance our communities. All Ga chiefs must rally behind Nii Teiko Tsuru II. Unity and development must be our primary objectives for the betterment of our children,” he urged.

Emphasizing the contemporary role of chieftaincy in fostering development rather than territorial conquest, His Majesty declared, “The focus now should be on development for the benefit of future generations.”

Expressing appreciation for the support extended by Nii Teiko Tsuru II during his own 25th anniversary celebrations, the King of Ashanti conveyed, “I am grateful for your presence during my 25th anniversary celebration. Your demonstration of support is deeply appreciated, and I reciprocate it warmly.”

In a call to action, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II implored all chiefs in the Ga State to unite in supporting Nii Teiko Tsuru II in the development of the Ga State. He pledged his unwavering support to the Ga Mantse, offering guidance and assistance whenever needed. “I seek guidance from the gods, and my counsel is at your disposal. Whenever you require advice on any matter, I am readily available,” he affirmed.
