Ghana Athletics Local Organizing Committee (LOC) inaugurated

The Ghana Athletics Local Organizing Committee (LOC) witnessed a momentous occasion as its board was inaugurated amidst a ceremony brimming with prestige and promise.

Dr. Kwame Baah-Nuakoh, a distinguished figure from the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC), ascended to the role of Chairman, symbolizing the convergence of athletic prowess and corporate acumen. Joining him in leadership is Charles Osei Asibey, assuming the mantle of Vice Chairman, his tenure with Ghana Athletics testament to his dedication to the sport.

The esteemed assembly of LOC members comprises a mosaic of expertise drawn from diverse sectors, each member poised to contribute their unique insights to the success of Ghanaian athletics. Among them, Andrew Ackah, representing the Advertisers Association of Ghana, brings a wealth of marketing acumen to the table, while Fadi Fattal, from the Imax Media Group, adds a layer of media proficiency to the committee’s arsenal.

 

Bawa Alhassan, a stalwart from the Ghana Police, stands as a sentinel of security and order within the committee, while Edwin Amankwah, a seasoned businessman, infuses the boardroom with entrepreneurial vigor. Phillipina Frimpong, CEO of Ghana Athletics, embodies the spirit of leadership and vision, her stewardship poised to steer Ghanaian athletics to greater heights.

Christine Ashley, representing the National Sports Authority (NSA), lends governmental oversight and guidance to the committee’s endeavors, while Augustine Amissare, hailing from the University of Ghana (UG), brings an academic perspective steeped in research and scholarship.

Completing the ensemble are Daniel Duut, a luminary within Ghana Athletics, whose grassroots experience promises to ground the committee’s decisions in the realities of the sporting landscape. Together, these luminaries of industry, academia, and sport converge with a singular purpose: to propel Ghanaian athletics into a new era of excellence and achievement.
