Accra Hearts of Oak brought back the Phobia spirit just when needed at Golden City Park on Wednesday afternoon as they put Berekum Chelsea to the sword.

Samuel Boadu’s team were clear favorites going into the game as he sought some kind of revenge on his former club.
The Phobians endured a nervous start to the game when Stephen Amankona and Emmanuel Sarpong came close to giving the home team the lead.
However, it was the clever thinking of breakout star Hamza Issah who slammed home a surprising first goal for the away side as they held on for a first-half lead.
Going into the second half, the Rainbow Club remained resolute while Chelsea mounted arrays of attack at their own peril as the front line of the Phobians took advantage of their opponents’ high line to make it two through Congolese midfielder Linda Mtangue in the 59th minute.
Hearts of Oak capped off a fantastic away performance in the 83rd minute through a superb counter-attack, started by Mtangue and finished off by Kasim Cisse.
Hearts are now three points behind Chelsea as they steadily move away from the relegation zone and will welcome Aduana FC at home on Friday, May 17, 2024.
