Do not be complacent! It is not over just yet – Ex-Zamalek star warns Dreams FC

Date:

Retired Ghanaian football professional Felix Aboagye has cautioned Dreams FC not to be complacent after drawing goalless against Egyptian giants Zamalek SC in the semi-final of the CAF Confederation Cup in Cairo.

At the fully-packed 120,000-capacity Cairo international stadium, the Still Believe lads held their hosts, Zamalek, to a goalless draw, much thanks to the superb performances of goalkeeper Solomon Agbasi.

The White Knights lacked the final finish in their relentless attacks on the MTN FA Cup champions.

Reacting to the video circulating online of the Dreams FC players jubilating in their changing room on Max 89.7 FM, Felix Aboagye, a former player of Zamalek, insisted the Egyptians tend to play extremely well away from home in African competition, warning them not to think the tie is already done.

“To be able to draw at the Cairo International Stadium is a good result. However, the job is not yet done. The second leg is very important.

The Arabian clubs play tactically better away than they do at home. It was not proper for Dreams FC to be celebrating in the dressing room because complacency may set in. Zamalek would not be coming for a draw but a win, so they need to be very careful.”

Karim Zito and his men will fancy their chances when they welcome their Egyptian opponents on Sunday, April 28, 2024, live on Max TV at 4 p.m.
