The Ghana Armed Forces has sent out a warning to the general public following attacks by a mob on Friday, April 12, 2024.
The attack occurred at Tema Newtown, where a vehicle belonging to the Eastern Naval Command was damaged during a festival.
Three suspects have been apprehended and handed over to the Tema Newtown District Police by the naval personnel during the attacks, which continued on Saturday, April 13, 2024.
According to reports, warning shots were fired by the naval in an attempt to descalate the attacks on the Tema Naval Base, as two civilians were rushed to the Tema General Hospital and later died.
“We wish, however, to caution the youth of Tema that any further attacks on our installations or personnel would be met with the appropriate response,” read the press release of the Ghana Armed Forces.
