GPL Week 26 Review: Kotoko drop points, Hearts beat Eleven Wonders to go top

Week 26 games of the Ghana Premier League has seen Kotoko drop to second with Hearts now on top.

The Phobians beat Eleven Wonders whiles Kotoko dropped points against WAFA.

1. Eleven Wonders vs Hearts of Oak

Hearts of Oak went to the Nana Ameyaw Park with confidence as they put Eleven Wonders to the sword.

An early goal from Kojo Obeng Jnr was enough to send the Phobians to the top of the league.

2. Asante Kotoko 1-1 WAFA

Kotoko dropped points at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium when they played host to WAFA.

Kotoko applied early pressure on WAFA and was awarded a penalty which Ganiu converted to make it 1-0.

The first half looked to be ending 1-0 until Justus Torsutsey of WAFA rose highest to score a header and make it 1-1.

The second half produced no goals and this has seen Kotoko drop to second on the league table.

3. Great Olympic 1-0 Inter Allies

Great Olympics managed to beat bottom-placed Inter Allies 1-0 at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Olympics after a barren first half sent on Mudasiru who has become a super-sub, he got onto the end of a pass from Antwi and made no mistake to score the winner.

4. Medeama 1-0 AshantiGold

Medeama had to wait till the 98th minute to get the winner, striker Patrick Agyemang scored from a spot-kick.

5.Legon Cities 2-0 Aduana Stars

Legon Cities moved clear of the relegation zone with a 2-0 win over Aduana Stars at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The Royals took the lead as early as the 13th minute when Jonah Attuquaye connected well with a pass from Matthew Cudjoe.

Legon Cities kept their composure at the back and managed to see the first half end 1-0.

In the second half, they were awarded a penalty after Antwi’s shot was adjudged to have come off the arm of Brefo.

Defender Joseph Adjei stepped up to make it 2-0.

6. Elmina Sharks 0-1 King Faisal

King Faisal beat Elmina Sharks 1-0 at the Nduom Sports Stadium to move out of the relegation zone.

A 50th-minute strike from Kwadwo Frimpong was enough to hand the “Inshallah boys” all three points.

7. Ebusua Dwarfs 2-1 Liberty Professionals

Dwarfs beat 10-men Liberty Professionals 2-1 at the Cape Coast Stadium.

Liberty took the lead in the 11th minute through Michael Laryea but two goals from Seidu Abubakar and Enock Afram were enough to give Dwarfs the win.

8. Dreams FC 2-1 Bechem United

The Still Believe Boys scaled past Bechem United at Dawu. Ali Huzaf gave Dreams the lead before Charles Mensah made it 1-1.

The second goal arrived in the second half with Hufaz being at the end of it.

9. Berekum Chelsea 1-1 Karela

Berekum Chelsea drew 1-1 with Karela United at the Golden City Park.

Diawusie Taylor gave Karela a 50th minute lead before Stephen Amankonah made it 1-1
